Things That Bother Me

Fukushima Prefecture is experiencing discrimination and it breaks my heart! The news says cars from Fukushima being refused in giving fuels fearing of nuclear contamination and that people from Fukushima cannot enter restaurants, convenience stores, refuse to accept as guests in a hotel. I have read news from the net that some shelters and healthcares are refusing accomodations to Fukushima evacuees without a screening certificate or a radiation card ( read here) and some kids from Fukushima being bullied (read here).

My SIL's family has evacuated in Chiba ( abandoned their livelihood and home that is 10 km away from the nuclear plant) and is trying to make a new start but worried about her kids being bullied because they're from Fukushima. If the problem arises, she said they don't have a choice but to go back again in Fukushima. I feel for her coz we're also from Fukushima Prefecture and we have children. I don't want my kids, my kids cousins and kids from Fukushima called 'hibakusha' who were shunned for fear that they might make others ill. If the news ( photo above, not mine) is true, it' ll be really disappointing.

Some products from Fukushima were being pulled out from the market because of the spreading rumors on radiation most especially rice from Fukushima. I would understand if the rice was produced this year but the rice being pulled out were produced last year!

We are dealing with the all the mess of the earthquake and nuclear plants, but it's a big deal to be honest, people/media is too exagerating. The goverment is supporting farmers in Fukushima, the radiation levels are far below the set health limits. I live 40 km away from Fukushima Nuclear Plant, here we can eat any thing! Hope that people from other prefecture would buy Fukushima veggies, they're safe to eat.

Messages during interviews in the TV says " Ganbarou, Fukushima! We are with you!" but reality says everyone is scared that they might contaminate radiation. Evacuees from Fukushima will need all the help that they can get. Please don't feel that evacuees from Fukushima are going to harm you. Please. <(_ _)>

I am so sorry about that, Clang. It's sad that instead of helping fellow Japanese, some are being so judgmental. I feel for you and your family most especially your MIL. I hope and pray that things would be back to normal the soonest. may God guide and bless you all always.

All the people must be shifted to safety zone and take the necessary action to stop the radiation as early as possible they do not pour the water (radio active) into the sea and think another alternative to drop the water.

So now I understand why the Japanese we met here in the Philippines were mad at the media. They told us that media's overblowing things, making it even worse for Japan.

I know that people are 'curious' as to the situation in Fukushima but I pray that the newsmen and women see that they are doing more harm than good.

Hope everything is well with your family!

That's so harsh of the other people! Kawawa naman yung super devastated na ng tsunami tapos they're receiving those kind of treatments from others. I hope you and your family are not the ones who are being bullied. Ingat kayo diyan Mommy Clang.

@prasad:The Fukushima Nuclear Plant was built strong against magnitude 8.5 and the earthquake maginitude was 9.0. Moreover there were a lot of breakwaters which were 3~4 meter high in the area. Nevertheless the Tsunami got over it.Fukushima 50 is doing their best, sacrificing their lives for the people of Japan.

That's really sad to hear. I am sorry about their sorrows. People should not treat other people bad. Besides, Everyone in Japan, experienced the tragedy. People should think first before they open their mouth so they will not hurt other people's feelings. Give and share the blessings. Not throw stones at them.

Its very sad to hear that.. quite disappointing kasi akala ko, na-prove ko na ang pagka-peaceful ng mga japanese. Iba iba talaga utak ng tao, may malawak at may masikip. Those people are the ones who dont understand, mga ignorante nagpapadala sa sabi sabi. I hope mabalik na talaga sa dati. Ganbarou ne :)

May ganyan talagang mga tao. Instead na maging mas maunawain sila e nagiging very harsh sa kapwa.

Dear Clarissa, it breaks my heart too even though I am located so far away in Singapore...I will pray and am sure Japan will pull out from this disaster stronger than before.
