Ring Tag

Got a first tag from Beng a new found friend here at blogosphere and Ate Cecile Thank you dearie!!^_^

Why should the wedding ring be worn on the fourth finger? There is a beautiful and convincing explanation given by the Chinese.....
Thumb represents your Parents.
Second (Index) finger represents your Siblings.
Middle finger represents your-Self.
Fourth (Ring) finger represents your Life Partner. & the . . .
Last (Little) finger represents your children.
Firstly, open your palms (face to face), bend the middle fingers and hold them together - back to back.
Secondly, open and hold the remaining three fingers and the thumb - tip to tip. (As shown in the figure below):

Now, try to separate your thumbs (representing the parents)..., they will open, because your parents are not destined to live with you lifelong, and have to leave you sooner or later. Please join your thumbs as before and separate your Index fingers (representing siblings)...., they will also open, because your brothers and sisters will have their own families and will have to lead their own separate lives.
Now join the Index fingers and separate your Little fingers (representing your children)...., they will open too, because the children also will get married and settle down on their own some day. Finally, join your Little fingers, and try to separate your Ring fingers (representing your spouse). You will be surprised to see that you just CANNOT..... because Husband & Wife have to remain together all their lives - through thick and thin!! Please try this out and pass............. ISN'T THIS A LOVELY THEORY?

I'm passing this tag to everybody!! ^_^ Happy Blogging!!

A Mother' s Tribute Tag

I received this tag from Ate Roseand Ate Cecile my dear friend and seniors here at blogosphere-- Thank you very much for giving me this opportunity to give a tribute to my loving Mom-- Mama Julie. ^_^ Forgive me for posting them late--Hoping that it won't bore you to tears for reading my unprivate life ......

My Dear Mama Julie,
I hope that you're in pink of health-- we' re always talking over the phone but I guess it' s been a while I haven' t written a letter to you and now I' m making it an open letter for you to read. I know that you' re not expecting this coz you know me that I' m not that showy towards my feelings. But I' m here giving it a shot!
I was 9 nine years old then when Papa died and Mama Julie took care of me and my two brothers as the head of the family. You worked hard for us to be able to make a living and sent us to school. I adore you for being strong even though that sometimes life to us has been so cruel-- you' re always there, a strong Mama. I know all your sacrifices, patience, and all your advices telling me that it' s for my own good but still going to the wrong path ---I was young then, and always a trouble maker among the family but you' re always there, a forgiving Mama. When I decided to work here in Japan as an entertainer without your consent, you didn' t reply to my letters even after finishing my contract. I was afraid of what would others might think if they know that I' m working in Japan. With our conversations when I went home, you told me that you' re not worried about the humiliations that will cause me but it was that I didn' t dare to think about a mother worrying about her daughter working in a different country. And you cried... Again, I' m sorry.

When I decided to get married, it was you who was worried coz you know that I don' t cook and even when now I' m in Japan, you sent me a lot of cooking book for me to practice. I told you that I' m doing them but not. I' m sorry, I lied. But when we went back to the Philippines and reunited again, I cooked for you what I have known for a bit and then you smiled after you tasted them and told me that you' re proud of me. I' m glad I have seen that smile again in your face!

Mama, I love you so much and I owe to you for what I have in life. Thank you very much for being there for me. I miss you so much!

With Love,
Rizza

I' m tagging every one who wants to give a tribute to their Mom. Happy Blogging!!^_^

8: Now - he wanted me to shut up! ^_^

9: I love chocolates - I love eating them most especially when tired.

10: I'm a softie. (T_T)

I Want To Be My Dad' s Bride!

' I want to be my Dad’ s bride–Mama, divorce him! ' says Wakaba, 5 years old. Thinking me as her rival to her father. Yesterday, as I picked her up from school, some of her classmates were there playing after the class and we waited for them to finish playing for about an hour. The kids were busy playing and the Mom’s too are busy talking. And when the time comes to say goodbye, Wakaba and Daigo ( everybody called him Dai kun, her classmate at kinder and one of her bestfriend ) were talking while walking through our way to the parking area but then Wakaba wrapped her arms to Dai kun while her head lying to his shoulder! Since they’re both kids and we ( Dai kun’s Mom ) is looking at their back and the the scene there is so cute! How I wish I have that scene for a stolen shot!
Then that night while we were eating our dinner, I was just starting to talk to her Dad on what happened between Wakaba and Dai kun but then Wakaba said ' Mama, don’ t! Don’ t tell Dad! ' but then my big mouth didn’t stop that made her cry. Man, she was worried that her father would get jealous! Then her flattered Dad hugged her and wiped her tears and asked her if she likes Dai kun.She said ' no ' and her father told her that it’s ok to like Dai kun. Dad asked her again ( promising her that he will not get jealoused or something ) then she said ' yes ' and we all burst our laughs out loud that made her blush again!
Before getting to bed that night,Wakaba and I took a shower and plunged into a hot tub and since she has her Dads DNA, and now she' s saying again and again this line– ' I want to be my Dad’ s bride – Mama, divorce him alright ! ' .
Whew!! My little girl is starting to grow up – I just wonder if she found the right guy for her at the right age, would she still be using that line? Well there’s one thing for sure, her father would cry to death when that time comes!!! \(^0^)/

We were invited again with a group of friends and neighbors here at my In-Laws town wherein we have to do some sports act but unlike we did last Sports Festival in the community, it's Tug-of-war exclusive. A member of 8 persons each blocks team and there were 10 groups joined in the community mini-sports fest held at a school gym. I've been joining this sports fest ever since I got married and beginning to enjoy them. Aside from getting to know each other in the community, we were able to bring to each others laughs and smile. Bag / Purse Tag

Got this tag from all over my friends here at blogosphere--thank you for this tag! This is so much fun although the contents inside is a boring one. Thanks to Ate Cecile, Elizabeth, Maria, Dhemz, and Grace.

Here are the rules:
1. Post a picture of whatever bag you are carrying as of late. No, you can't go into your closet and pull out your favorite purse! We want to know what you carried today or the last time you left the house.
2. List how much it cost. And this is not to judge. This is for entertainment purposes only. So spill it. And if there is a story to go along with how you obtained it, we’d love to hear it.
3. Tag some chicks. And link back to this post so people know why the heck you’re showing everyone your bag.

This is my sports bag-- I love it coz it's very much handy and lots of space to give into that even a remote control can be put inside them.^_^

I don't check my bag when in a hurry then one day when we went outside for a walk and when I opened it, a remote control is inside my bag!! I guess my lil ghost put them inside without my knowledge. What's inside them is a hand lotion, a schedule diary, key, calculator( shopping is my reward for saving ), band aid, pen, purse, lip balm, comb, pocket tissue, wet tissue, a set of tablets, nose spray and an eye drop for my allergy, a dunkin donuts discount ticket, my black purse, a Japanese amulet given by my Father-In-Law ( omamori / good luck charm ), stuffs I got from a toy vending machine capsule, and some make-up thingy ( which I won't use but just fond of having them ). Boring huh?!

Now I'm passing this tag to my fellow friends at blogosphere:

Dee, Niko, She. Bambie, Ate Kim, Ate Weng.
and Laine Happy blogging!!^_^

Oden Hotpot

During my first year of marriage, I cook my oden hotpot using oden seasoning sold at supermarkets but thanks to my Mother-In-Law who taught me her homestyle way of making oden and now I'm cooking them with my own family. Here's the recipe of my homemade oden hotpot. You may add anything you want for your oden like hanpen ( fish cakes ) and or ganmodoki or atsuage ( fried tofu ). You may use oden seasoning sold at your favorite Asian stores instead of using A.

Ingredients: ( good for 4 persons )

daikon radish - 300g
potatoes - 4 pcs
boiled eggs - 4 pcs
konnyaku ( yam cake) - 1 block
chikuwa - 1 pack
dried kombu knots ( kelp ) - 4pcs soaked in water, discard the water afterwards
chicken legs - 8 pcs

A:

dashi - 900 ml water + 2 teaspoon instant dashi powder
soy sauce - 4 1/2 tablespoon
sugar - 2/3 tablespoon
mirin - ( japanese sweet cooking wine ) 2 1/3 tablespoon
salt - 2/3 teaspoon

1: Cut daikon into thick rounds. Leave potatoes in whole. Peel boiled eggs.

2: Cut other ingredients into large pieces.

3: Boil A in a large pot or hotpot.

4: Add ingredients into the pot starting with the chicken except for the chikuwa.

5: Turn down the heat to low and simmer for 40-60 minutes.

6: Please remember that the longer you cook oden, the better the taste.

7: Add chikuwa and or hanpen ( if you have them ) just before you eat them.

Serve with hot rice and salad. See, it's a quick, easy and warming dish best for cold months! Enjoy with beer!! ^_^

HINA MATSURI ( Doll Festival )

Today, celebrating Japan's tradition for girls that is called Hina Matsuri
or Doll Festival. It is a once-a-year event where Parents celebrate and pray for their daughters' health, happiness and growth. My daughters' Hina Doll was bought by their GrandParents ( my goodness, it's expensive! We won't be spending a 10,000 yen for that doll! ) and it is displayed inside our entrance area. There is a superstition about hina dolls: It is believed that any hina doll display should be taken down soon after the festival day. Otherwise girls might have to wait to get married--- Well, that's what they say but our display here is longer. lol!. Usually it is their Grand Mother who's preparing during Hina Matsuri and she always cook chirashi-sushi ( colorful sushi ) and sweet rice cakes but my daughters doesn't like them and since it's our first time to celebrate since we moved out from their Grand Parents, I decided to cook from their request of food that they love. I bought a Hello Kitty hina- arare ( rice crackers ) and made a cake ( again ), fried chicken, maze gohan ( Japanese Pilaf ) cooked in rice cooker, vegetable salad ( MUST have in every meal ), pork cutlet in stick and a corn soup which is not included in the pics-- they said I have to hurry coz they're starving and they wallop all within minutes!LOL!

Wakaba helped me with those stars and heart shaped egg--- can you see them?! She loves doing those things! ^_^

Just letting you know...
