---Our 2nd bank is almost half full---
I love saving money for future use and of course, everytime my husband fart his 500 japanese yen fine deserves a drop in there lol! Me and my husband is saving 500 yen coins at least one coin a day or if ever we have a 500 yen coin as a change from purchases, we won't spend it but rather drop them there to save. Our goal is to fill that 100,000 japanese yen can and go for a family trip--we don't know yet where to go but at least we have saving goals. Photo below is what we saved for our plane ticket---we're both dedicated to our goal, can't believe that we saved more than we expected to our trip to the Philippines last January and even though it wasn't enough for a JAL plane ticket, it really helped a lot.
Of course it's not always saving money, we also treat ourselves occassionally like buying things to all our family needs but it's also important to us that we do not go overboard financially. Monitoring your money is the key.
Do you save coins? How do you handle yourself financially? More here at

wow good post on saving hehe.. I seldom save coins as paying things need coins.

mine is up
I remember in college, I had this tin can of ice cream, and I would drop all my coins left for the day in the can and when it was time to open it, my dad exchanged the coins with bills, and with it I was able to buy some things. It really feels great to open a can full of coins - especially if you "worked hard" to get it full. It was like reaping fruits from your farm.
My GT post is up HERE.
Super proud ako sa mga Gt entries today ang gaganda ng stories. I like your story Clang, saving up for your trip... and taking note on the monitoring thing. Minsan save na lang ako save, nakakalimutan ko gumastos.
Coin banks are so practical! :) I've never been faithful enough to fill a coin bank, but my Hubby is, and we are (actually, HE is :p) able to save up for things. Thanks for reminding me how effective they are, I'm considering going back to using one. :)
