Couple' s Corner--The Day we said I DO

Rodliz’s Nest

( click play to view--thanks! )

I had fun and reminscing the day we said I do as well. Though the marriage proposal wasn' t a romantic one, this is one of the big happenings of my life that I always keep. I was working then in the evening as an entertainer here in Japan and when my husband proposed to me in the club ( a week before finishing my contract for 6 months) it was noisy! What do you expect in a club? It was dark ( oh yes, romantic kuno lol! ) When he proposed to me, I said " What? I didn' t hear you! " he said " kekkon shitte kudasai "( a straight and simple marry me ) 3 times coz we' re not hearing each other well. His hands were shaking when he held me something from his pocket-- a ring that I thought 'twas a present. He said it' s an engagement ring and looked at me straight to the eyes and said ' Kekkon Shiyou ' ( marry me ) now with a firm tone of his voice and said YES but then immediately looked at the the ring in which he gave me at the wrong finger! Since then, he' s in the club almost everyday until the night of the Sayonara Party ( Goodbye Party ) of my group with a promise that he will be in the Philippines to marry me. He came for the first time after a month and arranged some papers and met my family for the first time and stayed at home for almost a week. I thought he would hate staying in my country but to my surprise, he loves the back ride of a tricycle in my province! I arranged the wedding myself alone-- from planning, flowers, food catering arrangement, invitations and all that. My goodness, I can' t believe myself I did it all alone and wait for my Groom just to show up before our wedding day! Buti na lang di ako tinakbuhan!! I invited a few guests ( kahit na yung ibang taong nilait ang pagkatao ko at nilayuan ang pamilya namin dahil takot atang utangan tapos nung malaman nilang mag-aasawa ko ng hapon panay naman ang kapit sa amin ) friends and some relatives. The church wedding went well ( Yochan have difficulties in reading his part at the church --cyempre english kasi! ) and so with the pool side reception in our province. The feeling was great that I don' t want to end!! Even until now, I could still remember that feeling!! The next day, we went to Cebu for the honeymoon until the end of his vacation for 10 days. After months of processing of papers and waiting, I finally headed my way back to Japan not as an entertainer but his wife. According to him, he was teary eyed the time he saw me at Narita airport but the tears fade away when he looked at the color of my skin-- I was tanned and have sun burns!! He told me KURO( i )!! as in ang itim-itim ko daw!! Before my flight, I spent the rest of the week at the beach with my family thats why. After a month of The Acceptance, we had 3 mini wedding receptions in Japan first with Yochan' s family and relatives, second with Yochan' s c0-workers, and third with Yochan' s close friends. We had a tight schedule but what the heck, it was fun meeting them where I am formally introduced as Yochan' s wife!

( note: this was written last week but still would like to share my piece. Thanks )

Wow, you were brave to have planned and took care of everything for the wedding, and I can understand your fear of ..what if he didn't show up. Inimbita mo pa naman ang mga relatives nyong nanlait sa inyo at lumayo kasi kala eh uutangan nyo, ehehehe.

Grande naman ng kasal mo Mommy Clarissa, ang saya saya..I love all the pictures. Yung batang babae, siya ba yung daughter mong nasa Pilipinas? she's pretty.

Naku, ka sweet naman 3 times ka pang kinasal hehe. By the way, good thing that you little by little move on. I know it is easy to say but hard to do, but I am telling you, God is good pa rin. And come to think of it bata pa kayo ^_^.
