Wakaba was grounded for not doing her homework when she came from school yesterday and went to play with her friends instead. It's not that we don't want her to play with her friends after school but our rule in the house is that she have to finish all her assignments FIRST at home before going out and play with her friends or tend to her virtual pet . She have so little time in the evening coz she ( and her sister Haruka ) have to be tucked to bed before or at 9 PM-- eating her dinner, taking a warm bathe at the ofuro, she also have to prepare personally her things to be needed for the next day, reading books, bonding, etc---so little time but a lot of things to do.
It wasn't a first time, so I have to teach her a lesson for breaking a promise-- no playing with friends today after school. If she does her homework, let's see...

Im sure she'll understand that every action has its consequences. That's part of discipline.
This is really sad for Wakaba. But this is also for her own good. As early as possible, we as parents, should also teach our kids to be responsible. And the consequence of her action should be clear to her :)
they don't know it yet but that's a good way to discipline them. :)
I agree with you Clang, discipline should be imposed habang bata pa sila. Rylie can't watch TV until we reviewed things that she did in school and did her homework. They go to bed at 9 pm too.
See you in Nostalgia
Nakaka sad talaga as parents when we need to impose these things on them, but it's really for their own good. Someday when she gets to realize how right you are, she'll thank you for it. :)
Being consistent with the rules always works best. God Bless!
Oh. I'm sad for Wakaba. Di ko pa na-try mag-ground ng kids e. Maybe I'm being too lenient when it comes to discipline. I just hope I have your heart to do it. Kasi alam ko naman, it's for our kids' good di ba? Pero madali kasi ako maawa e. Pano ba mag-ground na hindi ka din nahuhurt when you see your kids sad or almost in the brink of crying? Natatakot nga ako kasi bka someday, I will reap what I sow today. Bka lumaki silang bad, kasi di ko nadisiplina habang maaga... :(
@Mommy Beth:If you're doing ground for kids, it doesn't mean by locking them to their room or something.Try doing something together that both of you and your child will benefit.Let them help you in the house, cook together for instance.
disciplinarian ka pala clang :) i admire you for being one.. gagayahin kita!!
I remember my parents the way you disciplined your kids, Clar. A deal is a deal. Break it or you get grounded. Good for you walang palo, me before maraming palo. Waa. Anyways, just dropping some love for you here today. XO
Minsan maaawa ka talaga sa bata pag grounded pero dapat tikisin kasi para matuto rin sila at malaman nila na mali ang ginagawa nila.
