Couple's Corner--Our Christmas Wish List

My husband granted my wish that I've been eyeing for for Christmas and bought it last week but not for me but for Clarence Claire ( he loves her like his own ) who will be celebrating her birthday this week. We don't give each other pressies ( except for birthdays and wedding anniversaries ) on Christmas coz it's a time of the year to play Santa to our kids and was surprised when he asked me what I wanted for Christmas and so went to the mall with the catalogue with me--me is of course excited. It was gift wrapped then he handled it to me and said " This is for our Clarence Claire's birthday/christmas present ", wag ko dawng papalitan lol! Christmas wish list granted, I'm happy with the gesture^_^ Well anyway, I guess we'll buy something na lang for each other like we did during ordinary days. I'm browsing online of what to give him on his birthday this December instead. I've been saving for it the past few months ( ssshh! it's a secret) . He told me he wants to change his wallet that he have been using for the past 3 years--still looking for a good wallet but not sure what kind of brand to give. Any suggestions?

Food Trip Friday---My Birthday Party At ZaZa

Celebrated my (?)th birthday last November 16 at Zaza ( yakiniku restaurant)together with my In-Laws(PIL,SIL and family,BIL and Great Granny). My MIL (sponsor) suggested a shabu-shabu party or a sukiyaki party for a change but I always love a yakiniku party at Zaza--making it like a tradition (coz she's always treating my birthday there) plus the food ( you cannot get wrong with their meat, they serve the best meats and high quality meats here in our place--that's why it's pricey ), service and ambiance of the restaurant are just great. Received a birthday sweets from Zaza as service but if we mind telling them that it was a birthday reservation ( was reserved earlier), the birthday sweets would be more gorgeous. Well, I love it anyway and hey, it's free^_^ We ordered and ate, drink, then we ordered again. It's either me who's doing much the talking, picture taking or making the meat burned and then we ordered again and before I know it, I'm on my 5th glass of my favourite shochu drinks lol!

My 34th birthday~Time flies when we're having fun ^_^
Birthday sweets for me, service from Zaza! Arigatou Gozaimashita!
Fresh Cassis Grapefruit sour (shochu based drinks)
Nama Wagyu Nigiri, can be eaten as is with the sauce (without grilling). Forgive me, but I grilled mine
My Wagyu( highest grade kobe beef) platter, soft and delicate! Literally melts in your mouth!
Pork Shabu-shabu Veggie Salad with Sesame Dressing
My share of bibimbap and Peach and Grapefruit sour ( shochu based drink )

Nostalgia--Our First Christmas

It was the year 2002 when we celebrated our first Christmas as married couple---I remember I used the recipe from the book my Mama sent me all the way from the Philippines for I dunno what to cook for noche buena. I cooked beef morcon ( meat roll ), pasta and fruit salad and I guess I cooked for 4 people although we're only two in our apartment lol! It was a first to know that Christmas is not a national holiday and in Japan it is essential to have a Christmas Cake on Christmas. I was surprised when Yochan came home with a sparkling wine and a whole cake in hand--I believe we ate the cake for days! Kung alam ko lang, di na ako nagluto pa ng marami lol!
Christmas here in Japan is different from western countries for most of them ain't a Christian, it is more like a commercial event and not a religious occassion and the main event is on Christmas eve and not on Christmas Day. They're not into giving cards, too.
Enjoying ourselves on Christmas eve
Me as Santa Girl lol!

Isn't it so much fun to go back and just yank them all out and just sit there and reminisce? ^_^

Couple's Corner--When We Wish Upon The Star

It's a dream for us to build a new home to call our own, not anything fancy crazy big but just comfortable enough for us to live in. We have a tendency of moving from one place to another due to my husbands work and owning one is definitely a long term goal. In the meantime, we will continue to dream on travelling everywhere with our two-seater car enjoying the company only the two of us--the time when our daughters have a family of their own. I wish you can see our vision, we, growing old but enjoying slow life. It' ll be a long way but we'll get there, slowly but surely--- it's something wonderful to look forward to^_^

Nezumi No Yomeiri

Father Mouse sets off to find the mightiest creature in the world for his daughter to marry. He approaches the Sun, the Cloud, the Wind and the Wall and in the end believes that he has learned who is the mightiest of all. Wakaba played her part of Japanese folktales called the Nezumi No Yomeiri ( The Mouse's Marriage ) and went on stage at her school's stage play/musical last week. It was a first to experience to watch a stage play of the elementary students in Japan school. They played their roles, delivered their lines so well and I'm so proud of my Wakaba performing dances without any shyness and full of confidence. I'm glad that Wakaba loves to be on stage! It was a day to remember, we really had a WONDERFUL time most especially Haruka--she was shouting when she saw her big sissy dancing lol! We thought of leaving school after the performance of Wakaba and the 1st graders because Haruka might get bored--but was wrong, she enjoyed watching the play. It was pretty neat performance of them and Wakaba really had fun and it does makes me proud when my Wakaba were up there performing^_^

I'm so Proud of my girl!
The kids were all adorable
She did a great job on dancing and singing with her classmates
Wakaba made my heart melt for the nth time!

Food Trip Friday--My Tokuji san

While waiting for a mamatomo ( friend mum), I lurked inside the Bakery House My Tokuji, a bakery house that is a joy to visit.( I tend to take photos of what the inside but there's a lot of buying customers in the bakery and so I didn't and the truth is it's my 3rd time attempt ) I love having my simple ME time there and sometimes a tambayan while having a talk with some of my mamatomo. They have a wide of arrays of baked goodies and I highly recommend their maple french and kurumi pan ( walnut bread )since it was one of their best, they're all gone when I visited (T_T). All of their goods looks amazing and smell even better! And also you can sit back and relax while having their best baked goods at the outside and the environment here is like a cozy bakery and oh before I forget, there's also a FREE coffee service ^_^ I bought mine however at the nearest convenience store lol!
Their healthy Tofu Burger in a Sesame Bun---
