Remember September 11

Do Not Stand At My Grave And Weep
by: Mary Elizabeth Fyre

Do not stand at my grave and weep;

I am not there, I do not sleep.

I am in a thousand winds that blow.

I am the diamond glints on snow.

I am the sunlight of the ripened grain.

I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you awaken in the morning' s hush.

I am the swift uplifting rush.

Of quiet birds in circled flight.

I am the soft stars that shines at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry;

I am not there. I did not die.

This poem was translated into Japanese and put into music entitled 千の風になって ( A Thousand Winds ), and performed by Masafumi Akikawa, a popular tenor in Japan. It became a best classical record of all- time.
