Food Trip Friday---Lunch Course At Angelo's

This is how my rival-free (read:daughters lol) lunch date with my husband ended. I really like days like this ^_^

Crab in Tomato Cream Sauce Pasta

I had a couple of lunch date with my husband Yochan at Angelo Big Cabin ( Italian restaurant ) during his day-off on a weekday while the kids are at school. The place is cozy and you dine in style but very affordable.
The lunch course costs for only 1,000 jpy and that includes a choice of your pasta plus a garlic bread, veggie salad, dessert and a choice of your drink. I swear they serve the best pasta here in Fukushima!

3 Kinds of Berries Soda

Eggplant Bolognese Pasta

Mango and Pineapple Soda

Mommy Moments--Blowing Bubbles

The kids in the neighborhood came to our apartment and invited Wakaba and Haruka to have some blowing bubbles moments with them one summer. Shabondama or blowing soap bubbles in Japan comes with a thin bottle and long stream tube and all you have to do is dip the tube to the thin bottle's liquid and blow gently. I'm glad I had some stocks ( bought from the store ) for them to play around with some other kids that day. Well kids are kids that sometimes it ain't just enough so what we did is made refills from a dishwashing liquid and water and stirring 'em up for them to continue playing.

Blowing soap bubbles brings me back to my childhood memories^_^

---Bonding time------Wakaba is getting serious over here. " Mama, I want more bubbles! "---
---Shabondama style, it's easy to blow long rows of lovely bubbles---
---Wakaba using the hoop style wand---

Nostalgia--The First Few Months of Wakaba

Every Mom knows how time flies by and thinking of how fast Wakaba will grow brings a tears in my eyes...

Wakaba chan, we love you more than life and more than we can express in words.

These are the days to remember.....
5 days old---Your tiny toes, precious lil fingers, chinita eyes, cutie nose. You love to do your favourite thing: to be breastfed, sleep, sleep and to have more sleep. We love to listen to you as you catch some sleep.---
---You' re so much of your father ( except for the nose lol ) and always be ' daddy's lil girl '. Look at the face of your proud Daddy!---
2 months old---You're becoming more active, more often awake and started to smile!---
---You don't like pacifiers, don't like to be bottlefed and you love to be rocked while you catch some zzzzzz---
3 months old---Your very first roll over and you started to laugh this month and every single giggle of yours gives us so much joy!---
You're growing up.....

Wakaba was born on June 7 at 6:25 PM weighing 3,518 grams and 50.5 cm in length

1st month check-up -- weight: 4,502 grams length: 53.9 cm

in your own time, in your own way.

Isn't it so much fun to go back and just yank them all out and just sit there and reminisce? ^_^

Couple's Corner--YES Wife

I' m a YES wife!! There was a time that we laughed together about me wanting a " YES-NO love pillow "--it's a kind-a-naughty idea of mine to be playful to let him know whether I' m in the mood in between sheets or not. But he says I don't need any of those pillows coz the answer is always yes lol! ( naging green pa ang intro ko ) Kidding aside, I guess some of you have learned about the culture here in Japan that the ( old fashioned like my FIL ) Japanese husbands are mostly dominative to their wives. Husband ( not all alright ) often says do this-do that thingy to their wives and yes, some are a yes wives. But I guess it's a modern era already, nagiging matapang na ang mga japanese wives sa kanilang japanese husband^_^
Me, however saying yes to him puts a balance to our household, he's not being dominative but I know that he knows what he's doing and we often communicate and re-evaluate ourselves. Our goals, marriage life and I know what and when to say yes or no and keep our priorities---our kids needs and each others needs( dapat di mabutas ang bulsa namin lol ) nevertheless, I like to discuss everything with my husband as much as possibe and so is he.

PBW---Aqua World, Oarai Ibaraki

---Aqua World, Ibaraki Prefecture---

One of the best features of Aqua World contains for more than 15,000 aquatic animals and 350 different species, it also has a lot of collection of sharks. The place is huge and absolutely amazing! The aquarium also has tropical display and variety of winter penguins. First thing that we did when we went there was to watch a dolphins and sea lions show--there were four dolphins performing some fun tricks and they had synchronized swimming. Wakaba and Haruka loved the tricks of the dolphins and sea lions and to our surprise after watching the show, my SIL and family was there, too! We talked for awhile then part ways and went to eat a buffet lunch together with us after exploring at the aquarium. Well anyway, it was a bit crowded but it was expected for it was a weekend, a great trip for us and it can take the entire day to explore. I was delighted by the tunnel that we walk through with the sea animals above us and nevertheless, the kids had a close encounter through hands-on and exhibits at the museum--it was a pleasant and educational experience for them ^_^
---Dolphin Show----
---They love aquarium!!---
---Shark tanks---
---In all, it's magnificent beauty and awesome sharks!---
---52 species of sharks--- ---Touching the shark skin---" A shark's skin is hard and it feels like you're touching a sand paper! says Wakaba---

Food Trip Friday---Matcha, I Lurve!!

---Starbucks Discoveries Kyoto Matcha Latte---

I had this 'matcha boom' drinks during the summer---my great alternative to coffee-based drinks. Some may not like the ' horo nigai ' ( literally means a lil bit bitter ) experience of matcha because of it's 'misunderstood taste' but you can now enjoy for some modern drinks--sweetened and less bitter than the standard matcha like matcha lattes, matcha frozen drinks and some other blends. Give matcha a try, I think you will love it too! ^_^
---Matcha Au Lait with Kuro Mitsu Jelly-- I love the bitter taste of the matcha and the delightful sweetness of dark brown syrup jelly. A limited-time drink from Mister Donuts---
---Pon De Matcha Milk Crunch-- so crunchy in the inside and mochi texture in the outside coated with matcha chocolate---
---Matcha Au Lait Milk Jelly, another limited-time Green Tea Drink----

Mommy Moments--Hairstyles

My kids hairstyles didn't change coz their hair was too short! They often mistakenly looked as boys when not wearing something girl colors or some kind of hair accessories. They're very active lil girls, I can easily fix them during playtime and they can still look neat and tidy. Wakaba and Haruka's hairstyles now is on medium length and both of them decide on what hairstyles they want for themselves. I love them on their neat ponytails, braids, ribbons, hairbands or simply letting their hair down---chic and practical ^_^
