Girl's Talk--First Food To Choose On A Buffet

The latest that we had our buffet was at Narita View Hotel ( a business hotel near Narita Airport ) the day after we arrived from our vacation in the Philippines. We arrived in the evening and we checked-in there, we choose to eat a morning breakfast buffet at the hotel's restaurant the next morning and then checked-out after and went home in Fukushima. There was a lot of many delicious choices that we found in the morning on our breakfast table---western type of breakfast ( choices of bread, bacon, selection of egg preparation, etc ), japanese style breakfast ( salmon fish, natto (fermented beans) miso soup, curry rice, etc ), jams, coffee, milk, a selection of fruit juices and other beverages, selection of fresh fruits, veggie salad, soups, desserts ( cakes, soft cream, etc ) and a lot more! ---Morning Breakfast Buffet---
---My kids breakfast, fries, waffle, bacon, sausage, meatball, fish, banana and white rice------My plate, veggie salad, croissant, scrambled egg, bacon, sausage and a cup of coffee after---

On Their First Day Of School

---Wakaba enters Elementary!!---

While it was fine for us to walk with Wakaba to school at kindergarten, parents have to let the kids walk to school on their own during their first grade. For the walk home in the afternoon the kids are organized into groups based on which kids live near each other and they walk each other home. Elementary kids wears yellow hats and yellow cover for the randoseru ( backpack ) to let the drivers see them and to catch the drivers attention when they are walking to and from school. I was worried at first and wasn't comfortable of Wakaba walking to school without me but during the time that I attended the seminar, the kids in the neighborhood were organized into groups and one of the kids who will walk with her to school is a friend of Wakaba living next door to our apartment. That somehow eases my worries... Wakaba started her class a day after her Entrance Ceremony and during the first week of school, I waited for her near the school for pick up and then walk home together.
---Moeka chan, a fourth grader picked Wakaba up and they walked together with some other kids to school in the morning---
---Haruka enters Kindergarten!!---
---It was a rainy day on her first day of school---

Haruka was pretty excited to wear Wakaba's uniform during her kindergarten days and was a lil bit big to Haruka but I did an adjustment just to fit her perfectly. I thought that Haruka would be shy or apprehensive on her first day of school but she's still the same Haruka who started her preschool at the same school. If you are a reader of Kizuna, you might have read Haruka's Day at Preschool series. I have seen some kids crying when their parents ( mostly Moms ) left them at school and I have seen the faces of other Moms getting worried as they leave their child. I can relate to the feeling--I have been there... ohh..reminicing Wakaba's first day of school! But Haruka was different, she knows the names of the teachers and some kids at school and they started to play when I dropped her on her first day and just said 'bye, Mom!' to me and then go. But there's something that she asked from me that was stucked in my mind while we walked towards school: ' Mama, hitori de daijobu?' ( Mama, is it alright that you're all alone in the house? ) Haruka is worried about me??!!

PBW---Haruka's Welcome Ceremony

---Haruka---

Haruka enters Kindergarten!! These are the photos of Haruka taken during her Welcome Ceremony at Kindergarten last April 11. We've been very lucky coz just like her big sister Wakaba's Welcome Ceremony at kindergarten two years ago of the same school, the beautiful sakura or cherry blossoms were at full bloom!! The sakura at their school bloomed ahead unlike during when Wakaba had her Entrance Ceremony at Elementary School . We enjoyed taking photos of them and the sakura drops before the ceremony starts. The solemn ceremony was done inside the church and started with the school Principal/Director( sad to say that it'll be his last term this year )speech, Teacher introductions and some songs from students of the school. We also had group pictures of the class and quick tour of the classroom. The ceremony ended earlier coz there's only a few new kindergarteners this school year. We went to the photo studio for a family pictorial coz this year is a double celebration---Wakaba entered at elementary school and now Haruka entered at kindergarten! They're officially big girls already but not too old to still want to hold my hands!!^_^ ---Big sister Wakaba and Haruka---

Wakaba Enters Elementary School

---Congratulations to the First Graders!---

Wakaba had her Welcome Ceremony last week and most schools in Japan holds special ceremony for first graders. First graders wear formal suits, pants type suits for the boys and frilly sunday dresses for the girls ( usually used only once ) and some of the parents match the color of their formal wear with the spring season so it is usually in bright color formal suits. Wakaba was excited to wear her new formal suit to go with the solemn ceremony and of course her new randoseru( backpack ) Randoseru is a big deal in Japan and it is guaranteed to last the whole six years in elementary! No wonder it's so pricey! We went there ahead of time so we can take a lot of photos with the sakura ( cherry blossom trees ) but unfortunately, it hasn't bloomed yet. It was disappointing but we still managed to take a lot of photos on her Welcome Ceremony at Elementary School. We had a quick tour of the classroom ( there are 31 students in the class )and Wakaba was happy coz one of her classmate was her classmate on her former school in kindergarten! The new students parade into the gymnasium, speeches are made and each students was formally introduced then we got to see some performances of other students, too and heard the school song then we had a group pictures after. And oh, PTA members were also selected that time.

---Pika pika no ichinensei ( the so-called 'bright and shiny first grader'! )
---At the school---
---Shoe rack ( with Wakaba's name on )--at Japan school, you have to take off your shoes and wear your own room shoes when entering the classroom. ---
---A quick tour of the classroom------Wakaba sitting on her desk------The Randoseru------Wakaba loves her Daddy so much!------The new first graders------At the Ceremony Hall------The first graders parade at the gymnasium------After Wakaba's Welcome Ceremony------Haruka------Heading home, her randoseru looks heavy but it's still empty---

To all my friends who extended their greetings to Wakaba, Haruka and to my family, and to all those who kept on dropping by even if I can't return the visits, A BIG THANK YOU!! I can't find time to blog or blog hop as for now.Wakaba and Haruka goes into different school now and I have to attend separate time for other functions at school and PTA meetings. When I have the time, I'll be surely be here for a visit to your respective sites. Again, thank you for your time of visiting and for leaving your precious comments here at Kizuna. God bless!
