Mommy Moments

Today' s theme: Outdoor Fun

If you' re a reader of Kizuna, most of the contents is my family' s adventure here in Japan--- from an early christmas at Disney Resort, to a car shows and events, an explore of a cave, a day at the park, and I guess you will find more as we continue our family adventures coz we all love having outdoor fun ^_^

During the time of autumn last year, we went through Bandai Azuma Skyline, Azuma Lakeline to Inawashiro Lake where the roads are a good way to enjoy the autumn scenery. The scenery of the autumn colored leaves reflecting off the lake is well worth to go. For about 390km of travelling back and forth by car, it is worthwhile.

Going off to a paradise filled with tropical atmosphere like Spa Resort Hawaiians wherein we had our good time last summer was a blast! Together with us are my kids friends, Yukiko and Mirai ( with the consent of their parents ).

Going into a Motor Show is an outdoor fun??? Look at those shines!!! Seeing some demo and concept cars at Tokyo Motor Show is ' FUN ' !!! \(^0^)/

Operation 111

I want to pass this tag to all Filipino bloggers--- hope to show their patriotism to our beloved country through grabbing this tag. I got this tag from Anney and took the liberty of grabbing from Ate Rose, Madam Faye, Rossel and Ate Cecille. Please feel free of visiting their sites! Thanks a lot!!

PHILIPPINE 111TH INDEPENDENCE DAY

"The Philippine Declaration of Independence occurred on June 12, 1898 in the Philippines, where Filipino revolutionary forces under General Emilio Aguinaldo (later to become the Philippines' first Republican President) proclaimed the sovereignty and independence of the Philippine Islands from the colonial rule of Spain after the latter was defeated at the Battle of Manila Bay during the Spanish-American War. The declaration, in the form of a proclamation, in the presence of a huge crowd, was done on June 12, 1898 at the ancestral home of General
Emilio Aguinaldo between four and five in the afternoon in Cavite el Viejo (now Kawit), Cavite, some 30 kilometers South of Manila. The event saw the unfurling of the National Flag of the Philippines, made in Hong Kong by Mrs. Marcela Agoncillo, Lorenza Agoncillo and Delfina Herboza, and the performance of the Marcha Filipina Magdalo, as the Nation's National Anthem, now known as Lupang Hinirang, which was composed by Julian Felipe and played by the San Francisco de Malabon Marching band."

Happy 6th Birthday, Wakaba!!!

My Dear Sweet Wakaba,

We wanted you before you were born and when a 3, 518 grams healthy baby girl was held into our arms on June 7, at exactly 6:25 PM , we named you Wakaba. I could still remember that during your first month check-up, you didn' t gain much weight compared to other babies that worries me and I changed from breastfeeding ( even though I have too much of it ) to instant formula for the thought that you' re not getting enough milk from me but you didn' t like the feeling of to be bottle- fed and so I continue to breastfeed you and WHOA! You almost tripled your weight during your second monthly check- up! Now I have learned something from it--- you have your own pace of growing up. And since you and I is always together, I am lucky enough to see you in your ' firsts ' of your milestone and I could say that you are just perfectly healthy!

When your sister Haruka arrived to our home, it was my first time to feel that bringing up a kid is isn' t that easy--- there is one incident that striked me out coz you feel some jealousy because all of our attention is isn' t to you but I' m glad it wasn' t too late for me to realize when you asked me ' Wakaba no kotto suki? ' ( do you like me? ) while looking at Haruka. A simple question that touched my heart to change and learn. Did you feel how much I hugged you at that time?

As years gone by, the two of you get along together well and sometimes the two of you are now ' partners in crime ' but you' re always there for Haruka to defend your lil sister from some naughty kids ( and so are you, too! ) at school. Hindi lahat ng heroes ay lumilipad, ika nga! ^_^

Ang bilis ng panahon, you are now 6 years old --- thank you so much for coming into our life, giving smiles to our faces and adding colours to our life. And I hope you' ll stop teasing me for having a X-cXp size but since you have your Dad' s DNA, I' ll have to give up on that! (T_T) Kidding aside, I love you, my sweet Wakaba! ^_^

With Love,
Mama

Food Trip Friday-- Nabe

Nabe

This is a quick and warming dish, easy to make and light to the budget. A nabe is prepared in a hot pot usually at the tables, shared by everyone usually for cold months and sometimes a nabe party is done with my friends here in Japan. Inside my nabe has more veggies, meat, various kind of mushrooms and tofu ( bean curd ). It is economical and healthy and the thing is you cook anything you like in the pot. You can find the recipe here.

Mommy Moments-- Time out with Friends

Mommy Moments-- Today' s theme: Time out with friends

Wakaba and Haruka is very friendly in nature and even if they have encountered a new face, they would easily be-friend the person. Sometimes their friends would come over to our house and play with my daughters toys, eating snacks together, watching DVD' s or going outside playing at the park ( good thing a park is near our apartment, a few minutes walk ) and sometimes they end up coming home with scratches! Sometimes they fight with each other then make up with each other. Oh kids!!

And even at school, they also have same sets of friends!! I love seeing them interact with other kids ^_^
